Updated: Mar 14, 2021

With Weston McKennie inking a massive 4 year deal with Juventus, American players playing in Europe is growing. Stars like Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Alex Morgan, Giovanni Renya, Rose Lavelle, and more are heading to play in Europe, and making an impact. US soccer is looking good.

Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount are showing off playing for one of the primier clubs in Europe, Chelsea. They have helped lead Chelsea to a 5th place standing (as of March 3) right in front of rival Liverpool. Mount has 4 goals and 3 assists in the 2020-21 season. Pulisic may be leving Chelsea as they have not played him much with only 10 appearences, scoring 1 goal and giving 1 assist. Pulisic will be able to help the team he is transferred to or signed by. Pulisic and Mount are rising stars in Europe.

Alex Morgan and Rose Lavelle are starring in the FA Women's Super League in England. Lavelle plays for Manchester City Women while Alex Morgan plays for Tottenham Hotspur Women. Also playing with Lavelle on Man City is Sam Mewis and Abby Dahlkemper. Lavelle has 1 goal and 1 assist in 2 starts. Sam Mewis has 3 goals in 1 assist in 2 starts. Dahlkemper has no goals nor assists in 2 starts, but she is doing awesome on the defense. Alex Morgan plays on and off for Tottenham and is leaving this year for Orlando in the NWSL.

Giovanni Renya stars for Dortmund in the German Bundesliga. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in 16 appearences. He has 10 starts. He is doing extremely well at midfield in Germany. Paired with the rest of the Dortmund squad, he is on fire. Dortmund is coming up on the hardest game of the year versus their rival Bayern Munich. Munich leads Bundesliga while Dortmund is 5th. I think Dortmund will win Der Klassiker. Renya looks great.

Weston McKennie is an all out star for Juventus. He is dominating with his teammates Christiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. McKennie has 4 goals and 2 assists in 14 appearances for Juve. He has helped them get into 3rd place behind Inter Milan and AC Milan. The transfer from Schalke 04 has just struck a 4 year, €18.5 million dollar deal ($22.3 million US dollars). He has recently grown as the face of the USMNT due to his success. However, American Juve fans have to get ESPN+ if they want to watch their beloved team.

All in all, more Americans are watching European pro soccer. The Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and La Liga are growing in American viewership. Soccer is growing in America because of the leagues across the world. All European Soccer fanbases have at least an American fanbase. Soccer will countinue to grow. Go Gunners! GO USMNT and GO USWNT!
