Tough Opener for the Giants

It was a tough night for the Giants in the 2020 MLB Season Opener. The Giants had a rough match up against the Dodgers. It was the first game for the Giants' new manager Gabe Kapler. Kapler was a former manager for the Phillies. He managed the Phillies for the past 2 years. Kapler came in after Bruce Bouchy retired last year.

The Giants had Johnny Cueto starting, while the Dodgers had Dustin May because Clayton Kershaw had back stiffness. The Giants scored first in the 3rd, and the Dodgers tied it in the 4th. The Giants switched pitchers in the 5th. They put out Drew Smyly, a former Phillies player. Smyly struckout 2, and had a great inning. The Dodgers switched midway through the 5th. May came out, and Caleb Ferguson came in and closed the inning. The Giants brought in Rico Garcia for the 6th inning, and he got the job done. But in the 7th, the young submariner Tyler Rodgers came in, and gave up 4 runs. The Dodgers brought in Pedro Baez, and he pitched into the 7th. Adam Kolarek came in and pitched through the 7th and 8th. Brusdar Graterol finished the game. The Giants brought in Dany Jimenez to finish the 7th. He allowed 1 run. Connor Menez came in and finished the game. He gave up a 2 run homer to Enrique Hernandez. The Dodgers won 8-1.

The Giants have so many talented young players. Tyler Heineman had a great game. Dubon, McCarthy, Dickerson, Menez, Rodgers, Jimenez, Menez, and Garcia are all talented players that played last night. (This is written on July 24) The Giants have a promising future. Go check out my Tweet:
